Hydrating Tips for Radiant Skin, Lips, and Nails

Hey, Glimmer Gal! As the winter chill sets in, it’s time for some cozy self-care tips to keep our skin, lips, and nails feeling fabulous. Join me in this week’s post as we navigate the winter dryness together and discover some hydrating wonders!

  1. Sip, Sip, Hooray: Hydration from the Inside Out

Winter, especially in northern climates, often means cozying up indoors with forced air systems that, while keeping us warm, also zap the humidity from the air. And boy, can our skin and bodies feel it! The first step to combat this? Well, it’s as simple as raising a glass—of water, that is.

Tip: Drink Up for Glowing Skin

Staying well-hydrated is key during winter. Not only does it keep our bodily systems running smoothly, but it also does wonders for our skin. So, let’s make a conscious effort to drink enough water. Not only will it improve your skin’s appearance, but it also helps combat the drying effects of indoor heating.

  1. Pucker Up: Nourishing Lips in Winter Wonderland

Winter’s chill can leave your lips longing for extra care, especially if you’re staying hydrated. Paradoxically, you might notice your lips feeling drier. Fear not—I’ve got your pout covered with some winter lip TLC. Let’s dive into the art of nourishing those lips in this winter wonderland! Start by pampering your lips with a homemade sugar scrub. Here’s my go-to recipe:

DIY Honey Sugar Lip Scrub

– 4 Tbls sugar

– 1 Tblsp honey

– Approx ½ Tbsp of coconut, avocado, or almond oil

– ¼ tsp pure vanilla extract (optional)

Mix it all together with a spoon; add oil or a small amount of water to desired consistency This scrub will gently slough off dead skin cells, leaving your lips supple and ready to absorb the goodness. Store it in a cool, dry place for about a month. Massage it onto your lips, rinse with lukewarm water, and voila! Your lips are prepped for moisture.

Hydration Heroes for Luscious Lips

When it comes to hydrating those lips, my go-tos are absolute game-changers:

ph-Reactive Tinted Lip Balm: A personal favorite, giving your lips a natural hint of pink perfection.

Lip Primer: If you’re into priming, this offers sheer hydration and works like a charm under our hydrating lipsticks.

Hy-Gloss Lip Oils: For that extra nourishment, these gems are infused with goodies like squalene and rosehip seed oil. They deliver a sheer wash of color with a glossy finish, kissing winter chapping goodbye! As a stylist, I got early access and have been LOVING the smooth feel and lasting hydration of this.  Message me if you want to be one of the first to treat your lips to this!
