Why I’m Pushing for Big Goals This Fall

As we’re wrapping up August, I’ve been thinking about my “why” for the next few months in my business. It all ties back to something really special coming up next spring—my mom’s 90th birthday. When I visited her earlier this year, she casually mentioned she’d always wanted to see the Alamo. I was honestly surprised! She’s lived in Arizona for years and loves to travel, but somehow, Texas never made the list.

So, we made a plan! In spring 2025, my mom, Steve, and I will take a week to explore  Texas, starting with the Alamo for Mom and the Japanese Tea Gardens in San Antonio before heading out to Texas Hill Country. Of course, a visit to AB Astris Winery and a day with the Texas Wine Tours in Fredericksburg are also on the agenda. It’s going to be an unforgettable trip, as has every trip we’ve taken to explore Texas Hill Country.

What makes this trip even more meaningful is the journey my mom has been on. After a fall earlier this year, she worked so hard to get back on her feet—literally. And now, she’s been released from physical and occupational therapy and is back to being independent. I’m so proud of her, and this trip will be a celebration of her strength and resilience.

Now, let’s talk business. Our team is chasing some pretty big goals as August comes to a close. We’ve got a couple of double-rank promotions within reach, and one of my teammates is so close to hitting Bronze rank for the first time. She just celebrated her third Colorversary, and I’d love to see her reach this milestone. When one of us wins, we all win!

For me, hitting a rank promotion this month & maintaining it in September will help pay for our stay in a cozy AirBnB cottage while we’re in wine country. I’m so thankful to have a business that gives me the flexibility to fund fun trips like this. Being a Color Street stylist means I get to choose which promotions to go after and how I want to run my business.
